Dan Sumners is the Senior Policy Adviser at Signature. He helps the charity meet its aims by developing its campaigning strategy. That includes lobbying government for changes to laws and regulations, working with the private sector to drive up standards, and coordinating with other charities and campaigning organisations.
Dan’s day-to-day work includes developing communication strategy, writing materials such as articles and press releases, helping support the Boards of Signature and NRCPD, and research and consultation. But the most important element of what he does is building personal relationship with all types of stakeholders. It is those relationships, more than anything, that lead to the change Signature aims to make.
Dan also supports the UK Council on Deafness. He provides the secretariat function to it’s Access to Work special interest group, and to the task force that has identified a common purpose for the sector.
